Default Snooty/pretentious-sounding girls names

Are there any girls names that sound 'snooty' or snobbish to you? I can think of boys names that are like this, although they're mainly surnames-as-firstnames types e.g. Warner, Emerson, Chandler, but nothing really springs to mind for girls names. Except maybe Angelica/Angelique.

These girls' names are snooty to me mainly because of association:
Lavinia
Simone
Jessica

And ones that just sound snooty:
Veronica - I really like it, but it can sound a bit snobbish
Nicole

I agree about Angelica/Angelique (especially!). Also Angelina.

And for boys, I agree about the surnames as first names. Some others: Preston, Prescott, Parker, Harrison, etc. Also, though I like Charles, it can sound snooty to me.

Adrianna and Elizabeth sound snotty to me. They both sound like very fake, stupid and self-centred people.

I worry that two of my favourites, Arabella and Henrietta, sound snobbish.

I think length adds to the snoot factor for girls names, somehow.

It seems that different names sound snooty to different people. Jessica, Nicole and Elizabeth, three names mentioned so far as being snooty, i think are very normal, unpretentious names with no such connotations.

Arabella
Clarissa
Cressida
Philippa

They came to mind first as names I would imagine on the daughters of the aristocracy.

Anything ending in -issa or -essa (aside from Tessa, which I love) is snooty-sounding to me. Examples:

Vanessa
Clarissa
Melissa

Rachel, Raquel, and other variations are snooty to me b/c of association.

Dreama
Angelica (and variations)

Hyphenated/double first names, except those with Mary first (because those just remind me of all my mom's friends from her Catholic school days):
Sarah Catherine, Julie Beth, Hannah Kate, etc.

Sadly, around here, all of the really snobbish girls have traditional names. There's a really large, very expensive all-girl prep school here. I interviewed there and all the names were really similar and a lot of them traditional. There were a lot of the double first names, plus stuff like Elle, etc. It's a nice name, but it seems like every "rich bitch" I know has Katherine as part of her name.

I've been told that one of my favorite names, Cordelia, is highly snooty.

Care not, do I!

However, I assume Portia, Bianca, Genevieve, Guinevere, Hermione, Anastasia (noted above), Winifred, etc, would all have the same "vibe" and be considered snotty.

It's a fine, fine line between snooty and wanna-be. So many names are adopted across societies, so that nothing truly snooty stays that way for long. This is also why girls get named those upmarket boy names you mentioned.

I see Angelica, Angelique, Ariana and Jacqueline as about as downmarket as can be.

Snooty names in my book would be Charlotte, Virginia, Victoria, Antonia, Prudence, perhaps Courtney. Tatiana can't be snooty, it's far too much fun to say.

Truly snooty in this day and age is probably Jane, Ann, Susan, Joan, maybe Betty...
